Will vSphere Essentials only allow 2 processors per host? Isn't this a little? What if my server needed or had more processors than 2? Could I not use esxi5 or 4?
The goal for me is to virtualize 4 production servers, each having 2 quad core processors.
To be clear, when VMware refers to a processor license, they mean a physical CPU socket. So for example, if you're using a couple of 8-core hyperthreaded CPUs in your VM host, you'd end up with 32 logical processors per host, but this only counts as 2 CPUs as far as the VMware licensing is concerned.
