Re: Is SSO is necessary to VDP and how-to install it?

Hey Paul,

Interesting post, this, for two reasons

  1. I did not think VCVA would actually start without SSO. I thought SSO was installed by default.
  2. I see that there is an option to point SSO to an external SSO server - the catch being that the server has to be an appliance! (http://pubs.vmware.com/vsphere-51/topic/com.vmware.vsphere.install.doc/GUID-A26A99E5-EC3D-48FB-A5D2-A9836D6C4E37.html)

So there are a couple of things going on - should the environment be set up as you describe - The VCVA techncially is sitting on an unsupported (per VMware's doc set) configuration!

So all utilities that are now dependent on SSO would fail to register!

Could you share the /var/log/vmware/vpx/vmware-vpxd.log after a VCVA restart? This will show how the appliance is setup and we can then plan our next steps accordingly.

Regards

a
