Hello,

I successfully installed ESXI 5.1.0 on a DELL Poweredge T620.

Then I need to access VSphere server from a VSphere client...

but I cannot connect the VSphere server to my local network and it seems the problem

has to do with the network adapters.

From VSphere server interface I go to Management Network -> Network Adapters :

I find two adapters, one of which is checked:

(checked) - Embedded NIC 1  (MAC address) status: Disconnected

     - Embedded NIC 2  (MAC address) status: Disconnected

( no light on the RJ45 plug when using "Test Management Network" option to ping the gateway... )

I went through devices BIOS menu and found some information but I don't really understand:

here is a sample for device Intel Gigabit 2P i350 -t LOM:

          - Firmware image properties : Family version 13.5.6

          - Legacy boot protocol: PXE

          - Link speed: AutoNeg (I tried to change to 10 MB - Half (router configuration) but no effect)

          - Wake on LAN: Disabled

=> Port Configuration Information: (cannot be changed)

               - UEFI Driver: intel PRO/1000 5.0.08

               - Adpater PBA: 105600-000

               - Chip type: intel i350

               - PCI Device ID: 1521

               - PCI Bus:Device:Function: 6:0:0

               - Link status: Disconnected

I Don't know how to proceed to solve this problem, and I cannot find some documentation onIntel Gigabit 2P i350 -t LOM,

has someone an idea?

Thanks

untill the bios sees it as connected, esxi wont see it connected.

concentrate on teh ethernet wire or port that you plugged it into.
